BROP Rolls into the Cove

8pm, August 19, 2011

The Cove

2561 Citiplace Court, Baton Rouge, LA

It’s a derby weekend! August 19th marks the anniversary of the first All-American Soap Box Derby in Dayton, Ohio in 1934. We’ll celebrate gravity-powered cars and badass girls in fishnets by gathering at the Cove Friday night for drinks and pre-game discussion of Saturday’s upcoming Red Stick Roller Derby bouts: Diables Rouges against the Burn City Rollers, and the Capital Defenders versus the Bayou Outlaw Rollergirls. Anyone wearing a derby hat to the Cove gets extra awesomeness points!

On the third Friday of the next few months we’ll visit the Cove in Citiplace next door to Albasha. The Cove has an outstanding selection of liquor and beer and they know how to whip up a mean cocktail. The lobby and cocktail lounge near the entrance are smoke free, while the back room allows smoking and has televisions and pool tables. We’ll be meeting up in the cocktail lounge. Please keep in mind that you must buy a drink.

BROP is a social group for those in and around Baton Rouge and south Louisiana who are interested or involved in all forms of non-monogamy, including polyamory, polyfidelity, open relationships, swinging, play partners, friends with benefits and whatever other configurations you can come up with. Our hope is that that we can get to know one another and build the resources we need to have a healthy community.

All are welcome, regardless of age, gender, race, orientation, sexuality or involvement. Just show up and look for our mascot, Polywog, the little frog below, on one of the tables. FetLife members can RSVP on the event page.
